Look for Less – Marble + Brass Accent Lighting

Stumbled across this look for less option while out and about last weekend. World Market has this cute marble and brass accent light with an edison bulb for $50. Saw a very similar light at West Elm for more than double the price. !?!?   lookforlesslighting

Garden Tour: Tuscan Backyard

I had the opportunity to style a backyard for the Land Park Garden Tour and Tea which took place this past Saturday. The homeowners I was paired with were some of the nicest people on the planet and had a gorgeous outdoor kitchen and patio. The space had a dark wood pergola with stamped concrete and ironwork accents. I proposed a Tuscan/Mediterranean theme which the homeowner loved. Those who follow me in Instagram were treated to a sneak peek of the styled space but I’ll share the full photos here now that the Tour has taken place. Here’s the space before I got involved: LPGT Before With a Garden Tour we work with the homeowner’s existing space and furnishings. I went shopping and brought in a bunch of accent pieces to add some color and energy to the space. Here’s what it looked like for the Tour: LPGT After 1 LPGT After table LPGT After Living LPGT After Vignette LPGT Vignette 2 LPGT Vignette 3 What a great experience! The homeowners were thrilled with the space and purchased some of the pieces I had brought in so they can re-create this look for their outdoor entertaining this summer. They were a complete joy to work with. Thank you Dan and Kathy!

Color Trend: Seafoam Green

With all the design blogs, magazines, social media, etc I follow as part of my job I often see the same themes pop up again and again. Trending. It happened this week with seafoam green. It’s been popping up everywhere. So much that I double checked Pantone’s site to make sure they hadn’t released some new color of the year. But no, Radiant Orchid still holds that spot for 2014. First, I noticed in my Pinterest feed that Kelly Wearstler was pinning all sorts of seafoam green images. Like this:

And then I got an email “to the trade” from William Sonoma promoting their seafoam green bedding.

Things I Love Right Now

What I’m pinning/keep-ing/loving.

Things-I-Love-1

Osborne & Little Butterfly Garden Wallpaper So beautiful. Co cool. I am hoping a client will agree to use it in her half-bathroom.

Ray-Ban Aviators with Mirrored Lens I’m loving these glasses right now. Plus, Nordies told me mirrored lenses are trending.

North Face Becca Jacket This jacket is surprisingly warm and I love that it has a little more style than the usual fleece jacket. I’m planning to live in this thing for the next 4 months.

Threshold Tufted Bench This glamorous piece is only $100.

Revlon Extra Life No-Chip Top Coat I bought this a week ago and gave myself a diy mani. I am blown away by the results. That “Extra Life No-Chip” claim seems to be TRUE.

Pyramid Pillow Wisteria just announced their new pillows for Spring 2014. This one is my favorite.

“Holla-day” Decor

A variety of factors that I won’t go into here have kept us from going big in the holiday decor department this year. However, my heart skipped a beat when I saw Kristin’s Holla-day Home Tour posted on her blog. I love how she took traditional elements and put her own young, fun, even diy spin on them. And I definitely love the graphic black + white elements. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I did.
